Cries Of A Preacher`s Kid

1. I'm a preacher's kid, and I feel like I'm under a lot of pressure. People expect me to be perfect, but I'm just a normal kid trying to figure things out. My parents are busy serving the church, and sometimes that means they're not around as much as I'd like. I've learned that some of my 'mischievous' behavior is actually just a cry for attention.

2. Being a PK is tough. There's no formula for success, and everyone has expectations of us. We're expected to be kind, understanding, and perfect, but we're human too. When we mess up, the church can be really hurtful. Instead of laughing at us or mocking us, I wish people would try to understand us.

3. I wish people would take a genuine interest in my life and be a consistent source of support. Instead of just pretending to care about me to get closer to my parents, I wish people would actually take the time to get to know me.

4. It’s hard to find your own identity as a PK, especially something that defines one outside of their parents' roles.

5. Balancing faith and individuality.
