Work ethics and times -
You have to be accountable, In care you have to document everything, it is said it it’s not written/ documented it doesn’t exit
- Dignity- respect a service user’s decision, if they say no to whatever you are supposed to assist with if u can’t convince them don’t force them. Leave them and document.
-You can’t afford to get sick, if u call sick u won’t get paid for your absence unless it’s more than 7 days of off sick with a proof from the doctor.
Misconception by relatives, - the first year was difficult to an extent that before you would open the message from a relative you be planning on how u would respond them, explaining yourself why u can’t send them some money until l got to a point where l would ask myself that,Do l have the money? If l send them this last money l have, how am l going to survive for the next coming days before l get paid?, then would give the response accordingly. The frustration of wanting to help but u can’t cz u don’t have, and the pressure of being in the Uk and u can’t help.
Yes! There is no life here, the working system of 12 hour shifts it’s a matter of greener pasture otherwise Zim is the best. There is life in Zim.
The strain of marriage is real,
1. Giving each other time, the main priority becomes covering all the bills and managing child care if there is, not considering that the 2 of you need to create time for each other.
ii) House chores hubby leaves everything for the wife yet both parties are working, but some men finds it hard for them to assist their partners- *this issue is breaking marriages, it is a serious issue that needs attention* . Some men may not know that the disinterest of sex from their wives is being caused by this issue, women can be overwhelmed, the pressure, the fatigue, anxiety is making them lose interest in sex. If the wife is not working at work, she will be working at home.
Cos issue
Some employers especially Africans, they are treating their fellow Africans unfair. They are making them work 6/7 days a week, which is not allowed by the government. They are forcing their employees to pick shifts on their days off using manipulative ways all in the name of *Ndakakuunza kuno* forgetting that we also paid for the Cos which is a good enough reason not to mistreat their workers.
But the experience is good, u will get to understand that most people in Zim vakagarika, in the Uk unodya cheziya rako 🤣
