Ladies and gentlemen, as I continue searching the depths of God am realising that God is really interested in building houses for His people.
The scripture we just read comes from a story in which David approaches God with a heart to build God’s house, the temple. That desire is recorded in heaven and immediately accepted but because David has shed too much blood he is halted. God sees your heart when you are concerned about building His house. He responds by telling him that He, instead, will build David a house: “The Lord declares to you that the Lord himself will establish a house for you” (2Samuel 7:11).
To get the message to David, God sent a prophet, Nathan. David had a choice either to believe or not to believe Nathan. He chose to believe and therefore made the prayer which includes vs27 honouring God who had revealed to His servant that He would build him a house… and God did it!
The seed issue is hard but I pray that the heart of obedience to the Word may awaken in you to follow it and believe that even though you built a house, God wants to build a house for you!
May God:
Make you a ruler of His people
Cut off your enemies
Make your name great
Provide a place for you
Provide a home for you so that you will not be disturbed
Stop your oppressors
Give you rest from your enemies
Let you rest with your fathers only when your days are fully done
I pray that you raise the seed and be present on Sunday! God wants to build you a house!
