A woman from Zengeza 3 in Chitungwiza was on Monday arrested after she was discovered keeping her elderly husband’s decomposing body who died last Thursday in the house.
The woman only identified as Gogo Mahlahla has been arrested. She has been harbouring the dead body going about her usual business.
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
Chitungwiza residents thronged the house wanting to catch a glimpse of the dead body being removed by the police.

The wife has since the time of her husband’s death been leaving the house locked without notifying anyone about the death.
The man who is believed to be Gogo Mahlahla’s son was last seen about 10 years ago.
His name is Grant aged 39.

Cristabel Tizora (24), according to police, allegedly gave birth to a baby girl, killed the baby, and wrapped the body with a towel, which she placed in a sack before enclosing it in a bucket with stones.
Police recovered the bucket in the suspect’s room, and the body was taken to Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital for post-mortem.
