“One who kneels before God will stand before man” (Anonymous).
Is it not an act of grace that the Great Creator of the entire world has said to us?
“Call unto me and I will answer you, and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).
So what is prayer? Prayer is a way of calling unto God, is powerful, and accomplishing great things. It is talking to God and when we pray in faith and holiness, fervently it is effective and powerful (James 5:15-16). but prayer is not just talking to God, it is God talking to us in that sacred time of devotion to Him! Oh, how sweet that is! But that is not the complete definition of prayer. Here's why!
The Real Meaning Of Prayer: Bishop Pride Sibiya |
God knows what we want before we pray, but sometimes God waits for us to give Him the mandate over us and earth because when He created us He gave the authority to us so we need to “allow” Him to intervene in our lives according to Dr. Myles Munroe. In Genesis God said about us: “…let them have dominion on the earth… ” God does not negate His Word. The fact that he gave us the right to have dominion means He will not get into our sphere without our cooperation..."The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to mankind." (Psalm 115:16)... "And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none. (Ezekiel 22:30).
Prayer is granting God a "visa" to intervene in our earthly issues. Without God we CAN'T, without us, God WILL NOT! God can do all things of Himself but in His infinite wisdom and love chose to grant authority to us. Dominion is ours so God will not enter our domain if we do not grant Him permission; so to say. Prayer is a sign of dependence on God. As we pray we are showing God that there is no other way. “I am weak, I can’t do it alone”. FAILING TO PRAY IS TELLING GOD THAT, YOU ARE ADEQUATE OF YOURSELF AND CAN DO IT ALL BY YOUR FLESH, apa nyama haina kana simba against Satan (the flesh has no power to fight Satan at all). As we do this we exchange our weaknesses for his strength…. “When I am weak then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10).
I encourage you to stamp God's visa today and every day so that He may intervene in your issues. Pray, pray, pray!
God bless you.
