Men: This is Africa. Even if your wife is working or has money, never step aside as the main provider and sustainer of your family.
Never hand over some of such a mandate to your wife.
Work very hard to always have the upper hand in some family issues that holds that family together.
Unless something so serious happens such that your woman has to temporarily sustain that family.
Letting your woman provide and sustain your family is a sure way to lose her respect.

Ignore gender equality and "what a man can do a woman can do better.." those are nonsensical statements that only get used by women when it is convenient for them. Men, take care of your women.
