Jesus never forced us to submit to Him, He simply loved us unconditionally. (Romans 5:8; Ephesians 5:25).
Only a fool kicks against love. When you do, you crash on your own without anyone's help. It is like kicking against brick. Your stepping stone becomes your stumbling block.
The power of a man in the home is selfless love and the power of a woman in the home is submission.
Does that mean that the woman is not expected to love her husband?
Of course she has to return the same love to her husband. Just that the love is more crucial for the man as the head of the home. It is a priority for him. He cannot afford to make selfish decisions. The moment he begins to make selfish decisions, he corrupts the woman's submission and the home begins to crumble.
Submission, also, is crucial for the woman because without it, the man cannot lead. The woman - through her submission - empowers the man to lead. (Ephesians 5:24; I Peter 3:1, 2, 5, 6; I Kings 1:31).
Until you understand and align with that system, there cannot be order in the home, and when order is broken, the children suffer.
Submission by the wife does not only enable the man able to lead but also makes the woman lead the man initially indirectly and with continuous submission the woman would practically lead directly. Example is Esther in the Bible. Tables were turned upside down because of her submission.
