What Is Excellence In Ministry?

The word exceptionality basically means that which is done with a rare kind of uniqueness an d peculiarity while excellence means a level of superiority over the rest, brilliant fineness and a quality of merit.

For many years the church of God has been considered as a place of mediocrity and poorness. All things in the church were considered as of a lower level as compared to any other institution but with the coming of the apostolic order in these last days it is apparent that the times of the restoration of all things are here(Acts 3:21). Church and all its associated partners especially the mature sons of God will move into a level of excelling in all aspects of life including spiritual, physical, psychological, mental, academic, social and so on.

A good example of excellence would be easily seen in the life of our greatest hero of all time, Jesus Christ. All things that He did He did with excellence and exceptionality. When he spoke to Jewish rabbis only at the age of twelve (12) he astounded them with his profound revelation of the Scriptures (Luke 2:46-47), when He spoke hearts burned within (Luke 24:32), when He walked demons trembled(Mark 5:7), He healed the incurable (Luke 4:40), He managed the best transport of the day (Luke 19:30) and His seamless garments were so beautiful that they had to gamble for it (Mark 15:24). In all of this He was a well organized Saviour who knew what was to be done at the right time. What kind of excellence! I could have easily gone on and on about Jesus’ excellence but let me stop here. All this and more we can do because He said, “…the works hat I do shall he do; and greater than these shall he do…” (John 14:12).       

Ladies and gentlemen, it is of paramount importance for us to know that in order for us to know true exceptionality both in this life and in the one to come, we need to first accept that we alone cannot do it and therefore ask Jesus Christ to be Lord and Saviour of our lives, deciding to forsake all ungodly ways. After this the pursuit of excellence becomes easy!

My brother/sister I want to invite you to make this simple prayer, which, however, has serious implications, if you have decided on accepting Jesus as Lord of all of your life: Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for me, I admit that I am a sinner and need you: forgive all my sins and wash me by your blood. I receive you into my life right now, as Lord and Saviour, through your Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
