"Pride precedes destruction; an arrogant spirit appears before a fall."(Proverbs 16:18)
Men have an intrinsic good ego stashed in them by God so that they can be ambitious in life and fight for their own families. However when this pride is abused and used against those you ought to protect then it becomes detrimental. Examine these:
Proud man |
- For starters as many men enter into marriage they think they know everything about marriage. They will not attend pre-marriage counselling and if they do, they have no pen and notebook. Guys driving a marriage is as complicated as flying an aeroplane, you need schooling in both. Break your pride and learn from others.
- In the home they think they know everything with regards to living and especially sex. They imagine that if they are having great sex then their wives too! Sorry guys many women cannot tell you but they have never climaxed, discuss this with your wife NOW! You may be shocked!
- You can't be right all the time, my guy. Why should your wife be the one asking for forgiveness every time you have an issue. Guys be humble, you are winning arguments but losing your wife. That is not wise, but that is what you get for being proud.
- When you cheat you are hurt if 3 months down the line your wife mentions it, but you cannot forgive your wife because she just burnt your favorite meal! If she cheats...Tjoo! I won't even go there!
- When you have a problem at home, in your marriage and even in your sex life and health why can't you ask others for help. "No one will hear my issues!" "I married you and no one will tell me what to do!" "If I hear you talked to someone about this you are history!" Oh really, my guy, do you think the world revolves around you and that you have all the answers. If you had, your marriage and life would have not been where they are now.
When a woman gives you her heart keep it safely, don't toy with it!
"God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble...Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." (James 4:6,10)
A fool who asks wil not remain a fool for long, but a person who is too proud to ask looks prudent but will remain ignorant, Apostle Sibiya says.
Don' t wait for suffering to break your pride, receive Jesus Christ today and go to church for spiritual fellowship.
