Financial bondage causes three main things: poverty (lack of wealth or having it but lack financial discipline), un-productiveness (laziness, not finding a job or work but have nothing to show for it) and backwardness (obtaining property at a price then sell it a lower rate, unprofitable endeavors and giving up on profitable businesses).
Here are a few things which can show you that you are being pursued by this spirit:
1 You justify your lack and make excuses. If you defend your poverty no one can help you. It is a sign of a spiritual problem. You believe that, some, like yosau, were born to suffer! Read this verse: “However, there should be no poor among you, for in the land the LORD your God is giving you to possess as your inheritance, he will richly bless you” (Deuteronomy 15:4, Contemporary English Version ).
2. You are critical of those who teach and preach prosperity. A servant of God teaching you to prosper is sent to help you. Hating them is very demonic. Why should you hate those that come to deliver you? “He came unto his own, and his own received him not” (John 1:11).
3. You hate tithing and offering time. Tithing and giving open the spiritual highway to the world of prosperity: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Demons of poverty fight against giving and offering.
4. You believe a man or woman of God should not live in abundance. Servants of god are God’s standard on the earth and God desires them to prosper (Psalm 35:27). Supporting their demise is clearly from demonic spirits.
5. You are afraid to give under the direction of the spirit. When God leads you to sacrifice it is for your own good and breakthrough. Demons fight that you give according to your own carnal nature not from God’s direction. What God leads will bring you instant success.
6. Your immediate family or you always get ill or sick just after pay day. Demons of sickness always appear to take your money away. You also get involved in silly accidents that call for a lot of money.
7. You hate improving yourself educationally. This includes learning from others through seminars and conferences on wealth. Education is one of the things that help you to build or maintain your wealth.

8. You get sick every time you register a course or at work but healthy when home. This shows a demonic attack.
9. Missing your examinations constantly.
10. You feel uncomfortable when you handle money. You only settle down when your pocket is empty. You come home late. This is an act of the spirit of poverty that causes confusion when God blesses you so that you quickly lose what you have gotten. After getting bigger amounts the spirit will make you rush to shopping without budgeting, go for holiday or get another spouse.
11. You observe people closely to see how they eat when they visit you. It is a stingy-spirit which blocks the blessings of giving to you.
12. Lesser people get selected before you although you are better than them.
13. Boss hates you for no apparent reason and threatens to fire you.
14. Laziness. The Bible is very clear that we get rich through diligence. Laziness and continual long sleep is a friend of poverty.
15. The moment you get a substantial amount of money you leave church and go back to your drinking and partying days: “Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand” (1 Corinthians 10:7-8). You are only with your family when you have nothing!
