1. Poverty leads to lack of education. Education brings knowledge is power. Hosea 4:6 says, my people die for ignorance, lack of knowledge.
2. Poverty leads to drunkenness (Proverbs 31:7) and drunkenness leads to more poverty. Drunkenness attracts lack of self control and moral looseness.
3. Poverty leads you to be hated. According to Proverbs 14:20, a poor man is hated even by close neighbors.

4. Poverty causes you to be disregarded. When a poor man speaks he is disregarded even when he speaks in wisdom. Sometimes when a rich man gives foolish counsel the whole congregation applauds. It is wrong to do so but it is truly happening.
5. Poverty leads to domination. Younger but richer people reign over people fit to be their parents because of money.
Disadvantages Of Poverty |
7. Poverty leads to sin, to get money. A prostitute once approached me and I preached Christ to her. She ended up opening up that what she was doing was not out of her will but just did so so that she could fend for her 3 kids. The Bible says prostitutes will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
8. Poverty makes you worse than an unbeliever. The Bible in 1 Timothy 5:8 says that a Christian who is unable to work, get money and take care of his family has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
9. Poverty hampers the advancement of God's work. The gospel is for free but to preach the gospel is not cheap. Having to go to all the world with the gospel is very very expensive. An anointed man who is not backed up with money will not reach the ends of the world.
10. Poverty is a misrepresentation of the Kingdom of God/Heaven. In Matthew 6:33 the Kingdom is so loaded that just getting into the Kingdom guarantees that ALL these THINGS will be added to you.
Brethren being rich does not reflect that you are closer to God but when you get close to Him He blesses you and..."the blessing of the Lord maketh rich and addeth no sorrow with it." (Proverbs 10:22)
I hate poverty with a passion. If you do as well, may you shout "I love you Jesus! I will never be poor again!"
I love you, go and prosper!
