In this article, we shall be emphasizing on, your need to maintain purity as a christian youth. As you open up your heart to God’s Words to you, I see God opening your eyes to see and to know what to do to keep, and to walk in His ways.
There are basic truths about maintaining purity, which when you embrace and practise, will enable you to become the man and woman God intend for you to become. These basic truths form the foundation for your better tomorrow and as you know, the foundation of a building is its most important part (Psalm 11:3).
Let’s take a look at these key points.

You must understand that whatever state you are in right now and whichever family you come from, you are ordained by God to be a giant of the Christian faith tomorrow; you will constitute the church of Jesus tomorrow. Thus, if the present move of God must be sustained and increase, then you must be awake to living a life that counts today. Psalm 11:3 says:
If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?
This means if you lay a solid foundation as a christian youth in the Word of God today, then there will be co vacuum tomorrow. Now that it is easy to shape and mould the character you want to exhibit tomorrow, do it according to God’s standard.
2. IT IS A COMMANDMENT: Another fundamental truth that you must understand about maintaining purity is that it is required of you by God. A commandment is a law or an order. So, in case you previously thought staying pure is an advice, a suggestion or a thing you do at your convenience, understand this: purity is a commandment! It is a must for you! It’s a commandment from God, not from man.
Remember, however, that God’s commandments are not grievous. My husband says, “His commandments are not to grieve you, but to groom you!”
A refusal to stay pure and in the fear of God is absolute disobedience to God’s commandment.
3. IT REQUIRES DILIGENCE: To maintain purity, you must approach it with all sense of diligent. The Bible says: Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men (Proverbs 22:29). To be diligent means to approach the subject of staying pure in a careful and detailed manner; make it of uttermost responsibility to you. Let others see you and try to emulate your good conduct.
4. IT IS A SEED: Successful farmers pay close attention to the quality of seeds they sow, particularly as they want to make good profits from the harvest. Living according to God’s standard for you is a seed with promises of great reward. And you know that with God every good seed sown guarantees great harvest tomorrow. As it is written:
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease (Genesis 8:22).
There is profit in sowing the seed of a sound Christian life. Personally, I have enjoyed knowing Jesus and maintaining a godly lifestyle from my young age. It has been so rewarding and fulfilling. It saves you from a lot of mistakes that would have been regretful and so that has brought peace to my life.
You too can enjoy this peace and fulfilment if you would commit yourself to living pure and walk in God’s ways and directions. You need to be in a good relationship with God and it all begins with new birth. That means receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour of your life. This you do by saying this prayer in faith:
Dear Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I believe You died and rose again for my sake. Forgive me of my sins, take over my life, make me Your child and let Your peace reign over my life. Thank you for saving me. Now I know I am born again!
