David's Leadership: Titles Or Work?

David brought new standards in leadership. His soldiers were not titular or positional mighty men, their exploits are numbered.

Gone are the days of titles, we need to be leaders of quantifiable standards. As leaders we need to have moral standards, family standards, and financial standards.

We have a lot of powerful pulpeteers, orators great titled leaders who can bring forth a good homily, great presentations, great ideas but look at their lives. Children running riot, divorce, financial imprudence etc.

Oh for the spirit of David, bring back oh Lord, that time where soldiers will have their kill counted and numbered. Joab was an army commander but not a mighty man. He had a title and no exploits or standards.
