4 Spiritual Effects Of Sexual Immorality

These are some of the things God wants to protect us from which will become adverse consequences if we break His laws. The Shona proverbs says “mufaro mwena utevedze unoguma (ungodly amusement is a dead end)” 

1. Separation from God  - This is most disastrous of all effects of sex outside marriage because while we just call it sex ,God calls it fornication. It is a sin and separates us from God. When you are separated from God all things fall out of place .The greatest torment of hell will not be the fire but the eternal separation from God .At one point Jesus ,the hero ,cried out with a loud voice ,the reason being that ,carrying the sin of the world, God forsook Him and the experience was very painful for him. “And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice ,saying . “Eloi Eloi Lama Sabachthani?” which is translated “My God My God why have You forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34 ;Mathew 27:46).

Never let sin separate you from your God ;rather let God separate you from your sin .

Bonding to unlawful partner of ungodly soul ties - A soul tie is a spiritual bonding of one’s spirit and soul to another person or system .This makes it difficult for these to be separated and will even ,later on, cause problems when you are married since previous partner may still be existing “inside you”. When a man releases sperm into a lady , part of it leaves the body as she washes herself up or otherwise . Part of it remains inside her and is transformed back into protein and is absorbed by her body.

In this sense, the man physically becomes ‘one’ with the woman. It is no wonder that after years of marriage many couples look alike!

Some people find it hard later in life because while they are single, they are spiritually “married” to another dead or alive by soul-ties. Some are amazed how they easily , irresistibly, fall back into their past lovers arms, even when they are happily married. This is because there is a spiritual connection which leads to spiritual magnetism which a carnal person cannot overcome. There will be need to cut the soul-tie.

3. Spiritual power diminishes as in Numbers 25 - When the enemies of Israel tried to curse them and defeat them through Balaam they failed. Satan knew that there was one more powerful ploy to diminish their spiritual and military strength, sexual sin. They committed this sin and instantly twenty-four thousand (24000) died in a plague ( Numbers 25:9) apart from those that were beheaded ( v:4-80) how many have died spiritually ( and physically) by the same ploy?

4. More sin, lies, abortion - Usually when unwanted pregnancies do come by, more sin is indulged into. For starters , usually there is a lot of lying. When people, parents or guardians inquire what is wrong there is always high chance that you will live a lie. There is also high temptation to abort the unwanted baby which is a sin in itself. “Also on your skirts is found the blood of the lives of the poor innocents. I have not found it by secret search , but plainly on all these things. Yet to say, ‘ Because I am innocent, surely His anger shall turn from me.’ Behold, I will plead my case against you, because you say, ‘ I have not sinned .’( Jeremiah 2: 34 -35)

The abortion itself may have adequate consequences of guilt, answering police cases and after effects of being not able to conceive again in life . When people decide to keep the baby then usually the burden is on the lady alone. This usually leads to the family of the lady to seek revenge and may go as far as employing witchcraft.

The spiritual effects that God wants to protect you from will lead to many other physical, moral, psychological, social, medical effects if you indulged in premarital sex.
If you have fallen, the grace of God is sufficient to both forgive you and protect you against further damage. May His grace take away the guilt, cleanse, restore you and protect you.
