Prosperity in all earnest starts and ends with your spiritual prosperity (3 John 2). Here is my short homily on a prosperous spirit:
A prosperous spirit may mean
a. A spirit that is strong that it controls all other facets of your being.
b. A blessing that overshadows you to cause you to prosper in all facets of your life.
The condition of our spirits has a bearing on the condition/quality of our total lives:
1. Proverbs 18:14 “The spirit of a man sustains his infirmity”(KJV), “the spirit of a man will be his support when he is ill”(BBE). A strong spirit chucks away sickness or makes you strong even through the sickness.
2. Proverbs 4:20-22 the word is medicine not only to the spirit to the body

1. He was a man of the house of God/COME TO CHURCH
a. He was taken to the House of God as a baby.
b. He remained there after the feast.
c. It was his “custom” to be in the house of God (Luke 4:16)
Church is a spiritual service station to avoid your car from breaking down!
David was glad to be invited to the house of God (Ps 122:1), one thing he desired of God to be in God’s house (Psalm 27:4), and those who are planted in God’s house shall flourish (Psalm 92:13-14)
2. He was powerful in the Word/READ THE WORD
b. He confounded the elders of Israel in the Word.
c. When the devil pushed him, he oozed the Word, like a sponge full of water (Matthew 4)
The word is God’s love letter to us and must be read as often as possible.
There is power in the Word
It is a seed(sperma) that transforms those that receive it.
Search the scriptures (John 5:39), scripture makes wise unto salvation, profitable, that the man of God may be perfect (2 Timothy 3:15-17), it is not of man, holy man spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (2 Peter 1:20-21)
Get all the CDs, DVDs, Videos, and products from your church and others from outside.
3. He was a man of prayer/YOU MUST BE A PERSON OF PRAYER. Hebrews 5:7-8
a. He prayed very early (Mark 1:35)
b. He prayed overnight (Luke 6:12-13)
c. he prayed for his disciples(John 17:9,20,Luke 22:31,32)
d.. he prayed at crucial moments (Luke 22:41-42)
e. he prayed for his tormentors (Luke 23:34)
f. Prayer was his last breath (Luke 23:46)
g. He liveth to make intercession for us(Hebrews 7:25)
