How Do I Overcome A Spiritual Husband Or A Spiritual Wife?

We all need to know that in our fight against evil spirits of any kind and nature we are fighting from a position of victory. 

Jesus Christ has already overcome Satan and his horde of demons. However, if we do not enforce the victory we will stay under the bondage of a defeated foe. By dying on the cross Christ carried all our curses and sicknesses: “…by whose stripes ye were healed” (1 Peter 2:24). If you are in Christ Jesus spiritual spouses have no legal right over you than the one you afford them yourself.

I encourage all of us to arise and enforce the victory of the cross in our lives. As you start this you may need the safety of other people since the process may involve demonic manifestations. This is how you do it:

1. Receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. Receiving Jesus Christ gives you the status of being a child of God and God is mandated to respond to the cry of His children. Say: “Lord Jesus I repent of all my sins, cleanse me in your blood, forgive me of all my sins. I believe that Jesus you are the Lord and Saviour of my life. Holy Spirit fill me now, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

2. Declare. Proverbs 18:21 tells us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue ...” It is important to declare with your own mouth that you are the temple of God and not of demons. Declare such that the spirits will hear what you now believe. Announce the cancellation of your marriage to the spirit, tell the spirit to leave you, and speak the blood of Jesus against the spirit. Take more time, repeating this and binding the spirit in the name of Jesus Christ. Declare the Word of God (as given later in this booklet) over your life and against the spirit. Always remember, there is power in God’s word. You have to read the Bible.

3. Prayer. Continue in prayer and repeating the declarations. Get more prayers and enjoy the fellowship of other believers. Prayer is powerful when done from a righteous heart (James 5:13, 16) that has also forgiven (Matthew 6:14-15). Even when you see an image of someone you know in your sexual dreams know it is an act of the enemy. Fight against the demon not the image used by the demon.
4. Seek the help of servants of God. Do not just search for laying on of hands but for information on deliverance also. God says, “And I will give you pastors according to my heart which will feed you with knowledge and understanding” (Jeremiah 3:15). I also recommend my Deliverance Manual.

Devotional and Spiritual Help from anointed servants of God is critical.

5. Find a Bible-believing Church and attend regularly. The church must be Spirit-filled and properly teaches the Word of God. Casting out demons is not deliverance. It is part of deliverance. Deliverance starts and ends in a revelation of the Word: “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”(John 8:32). Having the Word is important to ground your faith and grow. It is also important in that it gives you a defence system against further attempts of re-entry by demonic forces (Luke 9:24-26).

6. When you are in a Bible-believing church please get personal counseling. The whole bondage issue can be so traumatic therefore needs counseling. Counselling will also deal with other demonic cultures and psychological strongholds that would have been brought into your life and/or marriage by the spirits. These do not need deliverance, per.se but personal and marital counseling. Remember, not every marital problem is a result of spiritual spouses. Some just need marital counseling.

7. Change your life-style. When a spirit is in your life it pushes you to live a certain life-style. Some get into porn. In order to shut doors of spirits of sexual perversion you, therefore, need to stop this lifestyle. Doing away with fornication, adultery, sex toys, flirting, “sexting,” meddling in the occult, false religious groups, marine-based faiths is a must if you are to be totally delivered. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 admonishes us to “…abstain from fornication. That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in honour. Not in the lust of concupiscence…”
