The Lessons That I Have Learned In 30 Years Of Marriage - Pastor Berry Dambaza Speaks (Part 2)

YOUR LOVE FOR EACH OTHER MUST BE UNCONDITIONAL: When our love for each other is conditional, it may not survive the severe storms that a marriage is sometimes subjected to.

We must have agape love love in our marriages for our marriages to thrive. Agape love is unconditional love. Agape is the Greek word for unconditional love which is in reality the love of God.

This is depicted in the verses that follow below:

1 Corinthians 13:4-7) NIV) Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Agape love is patient, it is kind, it is not self seeking and it keeps no record of wrongs, it always protects etc. This love is certainly supernatural. We need to ask the Lord to fill us with this kind of love as it is the foundation for strong marriages.

Let the love of God be shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us (Romans 5:5)

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savor. (Ephesians 5:2)

Marriage is a covenant in which you give yourself 100% to your partner. With this kind of love you are actually willing to sacrifice all that you have and are for the good of your partner. And when each partner in a marriage is prepared to do that for each other, that marriage is bound succeed.
The Lessons That I Have Learned In 30 Years Of Marriage - Pastor Berry Dambaza Speaks (Part 2)
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he(Christ) laid down his life for us: and we aught to lay down our life for the brethren. (1 John 3:16).

Let your love for each other be unconditional. This just doesn’t come automatically. We have to cultivate this love and allow the Lord to fill us with this God kind of love. Unconditional love totally revolutionizes and re-energizes your marriage!
