Self-Control Series: I am My Biggest Challenge

To control any other person or any other thing is easy and is pleasant, no wonder why people fight to have control over things.

However, I have realized that the most difficult person for me to control is me. Though I have great authority in life, I become my greatest challenge.

I realized that God has given me great authority that even the devil and great satanic forces of hell fear and tremble before the power God has given me, Jesus long overcame Satan for me but still, I have become my greatest problem, my greatest enemy.

Written By Apostle Pride Sibiya
It’s the issue of my appetites, my lusts, my thought pattern, the hidden things that I desire.

Control Yourself
- It’s the way I respond when I see easy money,

- It’s how I respond when I get a substantial amount of money,

- It’s the way I eat when it’s time to break the fast and I see a heap of pap/sadza and a litre of fizzy drinks,

- It’s the thing that hits my mind when I associate with members of the opposite sex, how my heart gets excited in coarse joking, or,

- It’s dirt joking and dirty cell-phone, internet messages and how though I do not seem to like it I rejoice at the chance to just have a glance of pornographic material,

- It’s my secret and hidden agenda,

- It’s the way I feel when people talk good and praise the success of people I do not particularly like and my perceived competitors,

- It’s the way I feel when somebody I never expected becomes more successful than me,
- It’s the way I feel like responding to someone who speaks evil against me or when I have an argument with my spouse. In terms of speech the Bible has this to say:

Proverbs 12:16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame. {presently: Heb. in that day} Proverbs 17:28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding. Ecclesiates 5:3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.h his folly}
