Pro 14:14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways:..Backsliding starts in the heart when a believer justifies his own ways rather than conforming to the ways of God. The following are some of the ways which a person who is about to backslide will justify.

1. Sinning.
2. Not coming to church(not gathering together with others)
3. Friendship with the world.
4. Opposing most of the things being done in the church. (Becoming skeptical)
5. Avoiding and Speaking bad about Pastors.
6. Finding it difficult to pray.
7. Excommunicating with strong church people and wanting to be alone or with other
backsliders.
8. Joining a church that makes you comfortable in your sins and where you will not be accountable to anyone.

10. A desire to discourage others from worshipping God. Remember that when the devil backslid, he fell down with a third of the angels.
(which are now demons).
At times its good to avoid backsliden brethren if you are not strong, because they might want to go down with you.
Remedy for backsliding.
Rev2:4-5 "Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast LEFT THY FIRST LOVE. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the FIRST WORKS; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent."
1. Remember from where you fell. Backsliding is like falling down from a very high place, and falling comes with some hurts and at times death. If you haven't died you will remember what you used to do, how you used to love God and all that you were doing for God and in the house of God.
2. Repent. Rise up and shake yourself from the dust. Turn away from sin.
3. Go back to your first love and do your first works.
# If you refuse to repent God takes away your Light. When your Light is taken away, Darkness becomes your portion. Encourage one another with these words and post them to someone you feel might need this message.
