The word, curse, is the direct opposite of, a blessing. A blessing is the empowerment, the ability, energy, anointing, the wisdom, insight and grace to prosper (Deuteronomy 8:18).

A curse is a word spoken over your life, a prayer, an invocation made in order to bring hurt or harm. These are words which oppose your prosperity. There is power in the spoken word whether it is good or evil. Prov 18:21 tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue.
So the tongue has power either to release life or death...blessing or curse. Deuteronomy 28 is a summary of all that blessings and curses are able to do in and through your life.
