Matthew 26:40-41 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.
"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." They could not find strength to pray because they were physically tired. But during the same night we find Peter gaining strength to cut the ear of Malchus who had come to arrest JESUS. (John 18:10)
When it comes to prayer one sleeps because the flesh is tired, but where violence is concerned one finds strength to cut someone's ears. Is the flesh really tired!!? Why do you feel weak during the time of prayer and yet feel juvinated when it comes to violence?
You are only weak on spiritual things but strong on physical things.
We all have times when we feel weak but do not allow the weakness to only affect your spiritual being.
You exit all Gospel WhatsApp groups saying I'm having problems with my phone's battery and yet chose to stay in those that talk about soccer, gossip and so on. Is it really the battery!? You even play all the music you want ,games, the likes of candy crash. If the battery is really not working then how come you are still using it on things that take up much energy than the Gospel group!?
You give tiredness as an excuse for not coming to church, yet you never skip going to work no matter how tired you might be. Is the flesh really tired!!? You put your head on the line clocking overtime at work but when it comes to things of God the flesh is tired!!
Is the flesh really tired!!? You fail to spare at least 30minutes to read the Bible, but spend the whole night reading preparing for exams.
If you don't rise up in the things of God , you will rise up in wrong action. Peter failed to watch and pray, yet he stood up to do the wrong things. Always know that the moment you fail to do the things of God, you are opening up doors for the devil to enter and use you.
I don't deny that the flesh is weak, but if we are able to stand and do all our earthly work irregardless of its tiredness what hinders us from doing the same in the things of God. Of cause we can!!!
Romans8:5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on things of the flesh; but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
This requires you to value the things required by the Spirit of God than the flesh!!!
