What Is Honouring A Servant Of God?

The word honour has many meanings yet they all cascade into one thing. To honour means to:

- Highly esteem.
- Promote.
- Respect.
- Highly estimate or highly price.
- Confer distinction or peculiarity.
- Give a title of decoration.
- Give a higher grade of distinction for meritorious, advanced or specialized work at universities.
- Accord the right to play first in a golf tee.
- Exalt.
- Pay a debt when due

All of these are meanings of honour. A servant of God who works hard in his field is worthy of all of this and even double: “The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honour, especially whose work is preaching and teaching.” (1 Timothy 5:17).
Usain Bolt Being Honoured
For me, a servant of God is a person who has been chosen and sent by God, anointed and commissioned for a specific purpose in the world. That person is not perfect but is in a daily battle to keep godly character and to stand for the Name and work of God not for selfish and egoistic purposes. Anyone, apart from this description, is not the one I am talking about.
