Just Before You Say, I Do: The Word (Part 1)

Many years ago just before my twenty first birthday I had the priviledge of being one of the first few youths in Zimbabwe to own and have a personal cell-phone.

This was the first time we had had a great breakthrough in the nation of Zimbabwe to have this wonderful gadget that we had, till now, only seen on American movies.

With my heart with youthful joy I opened the box of my new mobile phone not even knowing how to connect it to function. I was happy to discover that within the same box was a small book, a mobile phone manual. It was like the manufacturer was talking straight to me about His product coaching me on how to use it so as to preserve it. The manufacturer was so thoughtful of me to send me a small book for me to be knowledgeable about the phone.
Just Before You Say, I Do: The Word (Part 1)
You can never fully utilise and properly use a product without a manual of the same product. When God made humankind he also was very mindful of us to send us a manual to precisely know how we ought to properly handle life, marriage, family and ministry. In this coloumn, it is my duty to show you how the Bible, the manual of human life from God, the manufacturer of life and marriage teaches us on aspects of marriage that can be of help on the eve of your marriage.

This month I want you to get the foundational knowledge that God is the creator hence should be the centre of marriage. The Bible says: “The Lord God said, It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him”(Genesis 2:18).

God, being the creator of marriage, is the one who better understands marriage. Never make money, sex, parents, in-laws, children or whatever be the centre of your marriage. Pray with me today: “Lord Jesus Christ as I start on the journey of marriage please be the centre of my marriage and help this marriage to be strong and successful. Amen.”
